Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Scout, Inc. (“Scout,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you use our website, our SMS/text messaging service, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). Scout operates an SMS-based service that connects clothing brands with creators (such as models and photographers).
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Contact information you provide, such as your name, mobile phone number, email address, and Instagram or other social handle.
- Messaging content — the text messages you send to and receive from us, including shoot requests, selections, and YES/NO replies.
- Consent records — the date, time, method, and source of your opt-in to receive text messages.
- Usage and device data automatically collected when you visit our website, such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed.
2. How We Collect Mobile Numbers and Consent
We obtain your express consent to send you text messages in one of the following ways:
- Web form. You submit your mobile phone number through a sign-up or contact form on our website and affirmatively agree (for example, by checking an unchecked consent box) to receive text messages from Scout.
- By text message. You send a text message to our number, or reply to a message from us, opting in to the program. Where applicable, we confirm your enrollment with a reply message.
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase. Message frequency varies based on your activity. Message and data rates may apply.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To operate the brand–creator matching service over SMS.
- To send shoot opportunities, shortlists, selection requests, and confirmations.
- To share contact details between a brand and a creator only after the creator has accepted an opportunity.
- To respond to your requests and provide customer support.
- To maintain records of consent and comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
4. SMS / Text Messaging Disclosures
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All categories mentioned in this section exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
We share contact information strictly to facilitate a confirmed match — for example, providing a creator’s preferred contact to a brand only after that creator replies “YES” to an opportunity. We may also share information with service providers (such as our messaging carrier, Twilio) who process data on our behalf and are bound to protect it.
5. Opting Out and Help
- Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe at any time. After you send STOP, we will send a one-time confirmation and will no longer send you text messages unless you opt in again.
- Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us using the details below.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain consent records, resolve disputes, and comply with our legal obligations.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to opt out of certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the information below.
9. Children’s Privacy
The Services are not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision.
